02🔸 Completion Time
⏱️ Glory of the Cataclysm Raider can usually be completed during one scheduled multi-raid session.
The exact completion time depends on your existing progress, raid lockouts, travel between the three instances, and the execution of mechanics requiring controlled damage or additional players.
If an achievement condition fails or an incompatible legacy lockout prevents access, an additional attempt or weekly reset may be required.
03🔸 What Is Glory of the Cataclysm Raider?
Glory of the Cataclysm Raider is a large raid meta-achievement covering Cataclysm’s first three raid instances.
It combines Heroic boss defeats with special encounter challenges in Blackwing Descent, the Bastion of Twilight, and the Throne of the Four Winds.
Completing all 24 criteria awards the Drake of the East Wind flying mount.
04🔸 How Many Raids and Achievements Are Required?
The meta-achievement requires 24 criteria across three raids:
- 12 criteria in Blackwing Descent
- 8 criteria in the Bastion of Twilight
- 4 criteria in the Throne of the Four Winds
These include 12 Heroic boss achievements and 12 encounter-specific challenges. Existing completed criteria remain credited, so only missing requirements need to be handled.
05🔸 Is the Drake of the East Wind Guaranteed?
Yes. Drake of the East Wind is the direct reward for completing Glory of the Cataclysm Raider.
Once all 24 criteria are credited, the meta-achievement is completed and the flying mount can be added to your account-wide collection. It does not depend on a random boss drop.
06🔸 Is the Drake of the South Wind Guaranteed?
No. Drake of the South Wind is a separate random drop from Al’Akir in the Throne of the Four Winds.
Because Heroic: Al’Akir is required for the meta-achievement, the service provides one eligible mount attempt during the raid route. Receiving the mount depends entirely on random loot chance.
Additional attempts require separate eligible characters or later weekly raid resets.
07🔸 Can All 24 Criteria Be Completed in One Session?
Yes. When all three raids are accessible and the necessary lockouts are available, the full meta-achievement can generally be completed in one coordinated session.
Several encounters must be slowed down to allow required adds, debuffs, stacks, or phases to appear. Bosses must not be defeated until the corresponding achievement condition has been verified.
Additional attempts may be necessary if a mechanic fails or an existing raid lockout blocks part of the planned route.
